There are situations when buying a new bearing is not an option. In such cases, there is nothing else to do but repair the broken bearing.
We would like to outline this process, although we would like to emphasise that in the case of a broken bearing, we recommend buying a new one if possible, also for the safety of the equipment. Furthermore, it is important to identify the cause of the bearing failure so that the replacement is not short-lived.
Steps to repair a broken bearing
1. Find the fracture, mark the bearing ring opposite it and cut it in two with a flex
2. Dismantling the bearing
3. Thorough cleaning of bearing parts, grinding of cut surface
4. Adjusting the bearing outer ring to the original size, fixing
5. Cutting and welding of the ring along the fracture
6. Scaling the weld, removing excess material
7. Grinding and polishing of surfaces
8. Assembly of bearing
